CUSTOMIZATION OF EQUIPMENT. The student is permitted to alter or add files to customize the assigned student device to their own working styles (i.e. Settings) or as assigned by the classroom teacher. The student is NOT permitted to install or remove software on the assigned student device unless directed to do so by the teacher.

CUSTOMIZATION OF EQUIPMENT. With teacher permission, the student is permitted to customize the assigned Chromebook to his/her own working style (i.e. accessibility preferences). Students may not alter or tamper with the operating system or controls. Students may not alter or deface the Chromebook in any way (i.e. stickers, labels, etc.)
CUSTOMIZATION OF EQUIPMENT. The Employee is not permitted to modify the Device’s settings (e.g. System Preferences/Accessibility Options) or otherwise alter the Device in any manner whatsoever. The Employee shall not install software on the assigned Device, unless it is approved by the District. The Board shall not be responsible for any data stored on the Device. The Employee shall bear the responsibility to ensure he/she backs up any data on the Device.

CUSTOMIZATION OF EQUIPMENT. The student is permitted to alter or add files to customize the assigned Chromebook to his/her own working styles (i.e. System Preferences). All apps and software on every student Chromebook will be evaluated and possibly deleted at the end of every year or whenever the administration deems necessary. Any app or software purchased and installed by the student will be lost at no cost to the district. Bring the Chromebook to school every day. Keep the Chromebook with you or within your sight at all times. Do not let anyone use the Chromebook other than your parents or guardians. Adhere to USD 447 computer use policy at all times. Report any problems, damage or theft immediately to your teacher.

In the event of damage or loss, report to the school immediately. All student devices are covered by Accidental Damage Protection. Damage Protection covers manufacturer’s defects or accidental drops, not negligence or abuse. For example, throwing the student device or using the student device as an umbrella would be considered examples of neglect and abuse. If the student device is damaged by neglect or abuse or is lost, it is the family’s financial responsibility to replace the student device at a cost up to $700. If the student device is damaged, a School Administrator and the district Technology Director will work with the family to determine if it is a warranty or abuse/neglect issue.
