Definitions of Temporary and Part-Time. Definitions for part-time and temporary employment shall be as follows (these definitions shall be incorporated into the County Civil Service Rules): Part-time: The status of an employee who is appointed to a position which is less than three quarters time (defined as not more than 1560 hours in a fiscal year). A part-time position is ongoing in nature and anticipated to exceed six months’ duration.
