DEMISE IN SERVICE. In the event of demise of a member of staff, the employer shall provide transport or hearse for the member of staff who dies in service from the mortuary to the burial place, funeral and death announcement in one eighth (1/8) coloured format once in the newspaper with the largest circulation and contribute KSh. 200,000 incase of demise of the employee and ksh. 100,000 in case of immediate family members. These provisions shall apply for immediate family members. For the purpose of this clause, immediate family members shall mean one (1) spouse, children or legally adopted children who are up to the age of 25 years and are unmarried. Mortuary fees will be met by the employer in public mortuaries and mission hospitals for the period of Fourteen (14) and transport corpse from the mortuary to burial place. The employee’s legal representative and next of kin shall be paid death benefits in accordance to the University Pension Scheme Rules and provisions of the Group Life Insurance Life Scheme. The University will in addition pay and provide to the legal representative or next of Kin the amount applicable to the deceased under the Group Life Insurance as the case may be. Upon the certified demise of an employee while in the service of the university, the employer shall with immediate effect provide the following: Full cover for mortuary fee up to fourteen (14) days in Government Hospitals, Public University hospitals and Mission Hospitals respectively. Transport of the body from mortuary to the place of burial. Transport for the immediate family members to the place of burial. Transport for colleagues of the departed staff to the place of burial. The employer shall announce the death of employee in one of the National Newspapers. The employer shall provide Forty Thousand Shillings (Ksh40, 000) for the purchase of coffin.

DEMISE IN SERVICE. In the event of demise of a member of staff, the employer shall contribute the amount indicated in Schedule XI. The provisions are also applicable to a member of staff’s immediate family members. For the purpose of this Clause, immediate family members shall mean spouse, five (5) own or legally adopted children who are up to the age of twenty five (25) years and unmarried.

  • IN-SERVICE When a nurse attends any in-service programme during her/his regularly scheduled working hours, she/he shall suffer no loss of pay. When a nurse is unable to do so, and attends the in-service programme outside her/his regularly scheduled hours, she/he shall be paid for all time attendance at her/his straight time rate of pay. If attendance is mandatory all applicable premiums will apply.

  • Death in Service 19.01 In the event of the death of a staff member, the Board shall pay to the staff member’s estate a death benefit equivalent in value to the staff member’s salary for the month in which the staff member dies, plus one additional month’s salary regardless of the month in which the staff member dies, but shall not exceed the salary payable from the date of death to the end of the contract of appointment. Such payment shall be in full payment of salary and vacation entitlement.

  • Changes in Service This Agreement is made in good faith based upon the present and projected conditions and the quality of the equipment and/or Property, as well as its present ownership and management. Should changes in any of these elements occur which the Judicial Council believes may adversely affect the Program, the Judicial Council reserves the right to renegotiate this Agreement or terminate pursuant to the termination for cause provision, as set forth herein, without penalty or prejudice.
