Death in Service. Severance pay shall be payable by the Employer to the estate or named beneficiary of a deceased Employee who is eligible for such payment.
Death in Service. 22.01 In the event of the death of a Staff Member, the Board shall pay to the Staff Member’s estate an amount for salary owed to the date of death plus a death benefit equivalent in value to the Staff Member’s salary for the balance of the month in which the staff member dies plus one additional month’s salary regardless of the month in which the Staff Member dies. Such payment shall be in full payment of salary and vacation entitlement.
22.02 Pending further decision of the Board with notice to Staff Members, the Board shall provide an insurance policy which shall pay to the estate of the Staff Member or to the Staff Member the sum of $100,000.00 for any accident resulting in death or up to $100,000.00 for any accident resulting in dismemberment or loss of sight in consequence of and during the course of any trip while on University business, subject always to the terms and conditions of the insurance policy. Details may be obtained from Human Resource Services.
Death in Service. If a faculty member who meets the eligibility requirements for Employer-paid insurance benefits dies after his/her first duty day of employment, but before his/her insurance coverage becomes effective, the unpaid balance of his/her annual salary shall be paid to his/her spouse or dependent children.
Death in Service. If a faculty member who meets the eligibility requirements for Employer-paid insurance benefits dies after the faculty member’s first (1st) duty day of employment, but before employee insurance coverage becomes effective, the unpaid balance of the faculty member’s annual salary shall be paid to the faculty member’s spouse/domestic partner or children. Payment of this sum to the domestic partner of the faculty member is contingent on the faculty member previously having identified the domestic partner to the university in writing as a domestic partner or emergency contact. In the event of multiple potential recipients, the university can satisfy its obligation by paying the appropriate sum to the estate of the deceased faculty member.
Death in Service. (a) When an employee dies, the period for which salary shall be paid during the month in which death occurs shall be deemed to be the full month.
(b) Payment shall be made to the spouse or the estate for vacation leave accrued by the deceased employee to date of death.
(c) Where an employee dies while in the employ of the Employer, the following amounts shall be paid to the dependent or dependants, to be determined as recorded by the Employer:
(1) month salary for each year of continuous service up to a maximum of six (6) months salary.
(d) Coverage for medical and dental benefits for dependants will continue up to and including the last day of the month following the month in which the employee dies.
Death in Service. The employee shall receive a lump sum payment equal to one (1) hour for each one (1) hour of the employee’s sick leave balance at the time of death. Payment for SWP as a result of a Death In Service shall be made within sixty (60) days of the date proof of death is submitted to the deceased employees Department.
Death in Service. In the event of your death in service any gratuity payments will be paid to your next of kin. Any pension benefits will be paid to your nominated beneficiary, spouse or children in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
Death in Service a. In the event of the death of a teacher in the employ of the Board, the Board shall pay to the widow or widower of the deceased, or if there be no widow or widower to those relatives of the employee, if any, who are directly dependent on the employee's salary for their livelihood, the salary for the days taught in the month in which the employee died, plus one additional month's salary.
b. The Board shall continue to provide the medical, extended health and dental benefits to the dependents of the deceased teacher for a period of three (3) months after the death of the teacher. The dependents shall be notified in writing of the terms of this provision.
Death in Service. In the event of death of an employee, the value of all accrued retirement benefits shall be paid to the employee's designated beneficiary. If there is no designated beneficiary, payment shall be made to the employee's estate.
Death in Service. 23.1 In the event of the death of a regular full-time or part-time Staff Member, the Board shall pay to the Staff Member’s designated beneficiary two (2) times the average monthly pay received by the Staff Member over the Staff Member’s last three (3) calendar months of employment. Such payment shall include any partial month of salary due and shall be in addition to any earned vacation leave entitlement. Where a beneficiary has not been designated, payments under the provision will be made to the Staff Member’s estate.
