Difference in Trading Day and Trading Hours. 2.1.3.1 The Client should note that, due to differences in public holidays between Hong Kong and Mainland China or other reasons such as bad weather conditions, there may be differences in trading days and trading hours in the two markets. Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and Shenzhen- Hong Kong Stock Connect will only operate on days when both markets are open for trading and when banks in both markets are open on the corresponding settlement days. Therefore it is possible that there are occasions when it is a normal trading day for the Mainland market but Hong Kong investors cannot trade A-shares. The Client should take note of the days and the hours which Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect is open for trading and decide according to his own risk tolerance capability whether or not to take on the risk of price fluctuations in A-shares during the time when Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect/ Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect is not trading.

Therefore, it is possible that there are occasions when it is a normal trading day for the other markets but Hong Kong investors cannot carry out any Foreign Listed Securities trading.

Given the differences in public holidays and working days between Mainland and Hong Kong, it is possible that Stock Connect is closed and investors cannot trade in A-shares during the day when the A-share market is open for trading. Investors shall note of the business days of Stock Connect. They should consider if they can take on the risk of price fluctuations in the A-share market during the time when Stock Connect is closed. In addition, there is difference in trading hours between the Mainland and Hong Kong stock markets. Trading hours for A-shares under Shanghai Connect and Shenzhen Connect are different from Hong Kong and investors shall beware of such difference.

  • TRADING HOURS In accordance with the valid customs for trading Crypto Assets, there are no restrictions on trading hours in the Crypto Transactions at Trade Republic, except for blocking periods due to maintenance work. During the respective periods of maintenance work, trading of Crypto Assets is not possible. The maintenance periods are shown in the Application. Therefore, the Customer must be aware that trading cannot be guaranteed continuously. The trading hours with Crypto Assets have no influence on the trading hours of other asset classes at Trade Republic, which can be retrieved on the Trade Republic Website or in the Application.
