DIVER. A Diver is a person who wears a type of diving gear which directly supplies him with com- pressed air or other gases for breathing purposes and who personally enters and descends below the sur- face of the water, or any liquid medium, to work at the ambient pressures encountered therein. For the purposes of this Agreement, a person working in a submerged one-atmosphere xxxx/vehicle is considered a Diver.

DIVER. (a) An experienced diver will mean an employee who is certified as such. A Supervising Diver means an employee appointed to ensure that all diving operations under that employee‟s supervision are carried out in accordance with Regulations made pursuant to the Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Act, 1986. (b) An employee who is an experienced diver will, in addition to their ordinary classified rate, be paid an allowance of $34.52 per week. (c) An employee who on any day performs work as a diver will in addition to their ordinary classified rate be paid an allowance as follows: Per Day $ If an experienced diver (in addition to the allowance prescribed in sub clause 9.1.10.5 (b) hereof) If a Supervising Diver (unless this employee dives on that day in which event entitlement will be to the rate for experienced diver only) $46.81 $25.25 with a minimum payment of such allowance for any dive as for one whole day. For this purpose of this sub clause performs work as a diver will mean performing any work as a diver which requires the use of breathing apparatus. (d) An employee on any day who performs work as a Diver‟s Attendant will in addition to their ordinary classified rate be paid an allowance of The Diver‟s Attendant allowance will not be paid to an employee who is Supervising Diver on that day. The minimum allowance payable under this sub clause is for one whole day.

  • Induction The Employer shall provide a copy of this agreement to newly hired employees within the first thirty (30) days of employment and shall introduce newly hired employees to a Union Shop Xxxxxxx in the workplace.   • Screening After you sign and date the consent document, you will begin screening. The purpose of the screening is to find out if you meet all of the requirements to take part in the study. Procedures that will be completed during the study (including screening) are described below. If you do not meet the requirements, you will not be able to take part in the study. The study investigator or study staff will explain why. As part of screening, you must complete all of the items listed below: • Give your race, age, gender, and ethnicity • Give your medical history o You must review and confirm the information in your medical history questionnaire • Give your drug, alcohol, and tobacco use history • Give your past and current medication and treatment history. This includes any over-the-counter or prescription drugs, such as vitamins, dietary supplements, or herbal supplements, taken in the past 28 days • Height and weight will be measured • Physical exam will be done • Electrocardiogram (ECG) will be collected. An ECG measures the electrical activity of the heart • You may be tested for COVID-19 o Blood tests for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B, and hepatitis C o Blood tests to see how your blood clots ▪ Fibrinogen ▪ PT/INR/aPTT o Blood tests for amylase and lipase (enzymes that help with digestion, Part B only) o Blood tests for a lipid (fats) panel (Part B only) ▪ Total cholesterol ▪ Triglycerides ▪ HDL ▪ Direct HDL o Blood tests to check your thyroid function (Part B and Part C only) ▪ TSH ▪ Free T4 o Urine to test for drugs of abuse (illegal and prescription) o Urine tests to check your albumin/ creatinine ratio o Females who have not had a period for at least 12 months in a row will have a blood hormone test to confirm they cannot have children • The study investigator may decide to do an alcohol breath test • The use of proper birth control will be reviewed (males only) • You will be asked “How do you feel?” HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C will be tested at screening. If anyone is exposed to your blood during the study, you will have these tests done again. If you have a positive test, you cannot be in or remain in the study. HIV is the virus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). If your HIV test is positive, you will be told about the results. It may take weeks or months after being infected with HIV for the test to be positive. The HIV test is not always right. Having certain infections or positive test results may have to be reported to the State Department of Health. This includes results for HIV, hepatitis, and other infections. If you have any questions about what information is required to be reported, please ask the study investigator or study staff. Although this testing is meant to be private, complete privacy cannot be guaranteed. For example, it is possible for a court of law to get health or study records without your permission.

  • Workload Management 11.1 The parties to this Agreement acknowledge that employees and management have a responsibility to maintain a balanced workload and recognise the adverse affects that excessive workloads may have on employee/s and the quality of resident/client care. 11.2 To ensure that employee concerns involving excessive workloads are effectively dealt with by Management the following procedures should be applied: (a) Step 1: In the first instance, employee/s should discuss the issue with their immediate supervisor and, where appropriate, explore solutions. (b) Step 2: If a solution cannot be identified and implemented, the matter should be referred to an appropriate senior manager for further discussion. (c) Step 3: If a solution still cannot be identified and implemented, the matter should be referred to the Facility Manager for further discussion. (d) Step 4: The outcome of the discussions at each level and any proposed solutions should be recorded in writing and fed back to the effected employees. 11.3 Workload management must be an agenda item at staff meetings on at least a quarterly basis. Items in relation to workloads must be recorded in the minutes of the staff meeting, as well as actions to be taken to resolve the workloads issue/s. Resolution of workload issues should be based on the following criteria including but not limited to: (a) Clinical assessment of residents’ needs; (b) The demand of the environment such as facility layout; (c) Statutory obligation, (including, but not limited to, work health and safety legislation); (d) The requirements of nurse regulatory legislation; (e) Reasonable workloads (such as roster arrangements); (f) Accreditation standards; and (g) Budgetary considerations. 11.4 If the issue is still unresolved, the employee/s may advance the matter through Clause 9 Dispute Resolution Procedure. Arbitration of workload management issues may only occur by agreement of the employer and the employee representative, which may include the union/s.

  • Flextime ‌ (a) For the purpose of this agreement, flextime means the hours worked by an employee, or group of employees, who are given authority by the Employer to: (1) choose their starting and finishing times; and (2) choose their length of workday within a stated maximum number of hours, subject to meeting the required annual hours of work in accordance with this agreement, through a specified averaging period. (b) The full-time employee on flextime who has a day of absence, whether with or without pay, will be deemed to be absent for the agreed upon hours, providing at least the agreed upon hours are required to complete the averaging period. If less than the agreed upon hours are required to complete the averaging period, such number of hours will be deemed to be the hours of absence. (c) The averaging period for employees on flextime will be two pay periods. (d) The workday for those employees on flextime will not exceed 10 hours.

  • Supervisors Supervisors may continue to perform bargaining unit work which is incidental to their jobs. They may also perform bargaining unit work in emergency situations and where such work is necessary to train a covered member. Such work by supervisors may result from but shall not cause any layoffs of covered members.

  • Classroom Management The certificated classroom teacher demonstrates in his/her performance a competent level of knowledge and skill in organizing the physical and human elements in the educational setting.

  • MINISTRY INITIATIVES OSSTF/FEESO education workers will be an active participant in the consultation process at the Ministry Initiatives Committee. Ministry Initiatives Committee shall meet at least quarterly each year to discuss new initiatives, including implications for training, resources.

  • Safe Operations Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, an NTO may take, or cause to be taken, such action with respect to the operation of its facilities as it deems necessary to maintain Safe Operations. To ensure Safe Operations, the local operating rules of the ITO(s) shall govern the connection and disconnection of generation with NTO transmission facilities. Safe Operations include the application and enforcement of rules, procedures and protocols that are intended to ensure the safety of personnel operating or performing work or tests on transmission facilities.

  • Attrition Attrition means that as people leave their jobs because they retire, resign, transfer, die or are promoted then they may not be replaced. In addition or alternatively, there may be a partial or complete freeze on recruiting new employees or on promotions.
