DUES AND PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS. A. Any employee who is a member of the Association, or who has applied for membership, may sign and deliver personally or through the Association, to the Superintendent an assignment authorizing deductions of membership dues in the Oregon Education Association (i.e., local, OEA-NEA). Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year unless revoked in writing as hereinafter provided. Pursuant to such authorization and depending upon the payroll option chosen by the employee, the District shall deduct an equal portion of such dues from each salary check issued, beginning with the October check. C. Employees' payroll checks shall itemize all payroll deductions and shall include items eligible for payroll deductions, such as credit union transactions, group insurance programs from Article 24 - Fringe Benefits, charities, annuities and other deductions approved by the District. D. Any employee who has not requested payroll deduction of Association dues under this Article of this Agreement or who has not certified to the District that the employee has paid the employee’s dues directly to the Association shall be subject to the provisions of this Article. E. The Association will indemnify, defend and hold the District harmless against any claims made and any suit instituted against the District on account of any action taken under the provisions of this Article.

Deductions for employees who join the Association after the commencement of the school year shall be appropriately prorated, so that payments will be completely paid by the next August. The District will deduct dues, fees, and any other assessments or authorized deductions to the Pleasant Hill Education Association (PHEA) and the Oregon Education Association (OEA) in accordance with the October check. To be eligible for payroll deduction for membership, authorizations signed by members and provided to the application must be received by October 15 of any year. 1OEA. The OEA will provide the District with a list identifying the employees who have signed such authorizations and the authorized deduction amounts. The District shall rely on the list to make the authorized deductions and to remit payment to the Association PHEA and the OEA. 2. Upon appropriate written request from the employee, the District shall promptly notify deduct from the salary of any employee and make appropriate remittance for all approved deductions that we presently have and anymore which can be handled within the mechanical limits of the District’s accounting system and approved jointly by the Association and the Board. In addition, the District shall perform the same service for Association members for any insurance plans offered exclusively by the Association for Association members within the mechanical limits of the District's accounting system. SHARING INFORMATION: In October, February, and May of each year, the District shall provide to the OEA Membership Specialist whenever an Excel-compatible database of each employee in the bargaining unit is placed (both active members and nonmembers) that includes the employee ID, date of birth, first date of service, FTE, classification or title, PERS classification, worksite, position on an unpaid leave of absencethe salary schedule, retireshome address, is laid off, resigns, or changes their name. B. Withdrawing the payroll deduction for such dues may be accomplished by writing a letter to the office of the Association, President of OEAhome phone number, and personal email address. Whenever a new employee is hired into the office of the Superintendent and delivered prior to the first (1st) day of October of any year. C. Employees' payroll checks shall itemize all payroll deductions and shall include items eligible for payroll deductionsbargaining unit, such as credit union transactions, group insurance programs from Article 24 - Fringe Benefits, charities, annuities and other deductions approved by the District. D. If the District fails to make an authorized deduction and remit payment to the Association, the District will be liable to the Association, without recourse against the employee, for the full amount that the District failed to deduct and remit to the Association. 2.
