Duration of Provisional Appointment. Upon the completion of the provisional appointment, employees shall be returned to their previous classifications, unless promoted in accordance with Civil Service Rules. Effective January 1, 2000, if a provisional appointment results in a probationary/permanent appointment (without a return to the employee’s previous classification) the employeesprobationary period and salary raise date shall be calculated from the first day of the provisional appointment, not to exceed 12 months of provisional time. This does not affect the employee’s seniority date for any other seniority based purpose.

  • Provisional Appointment An employee with provisional status shall have no right to grieve or arbitrate release from such a provisional appointment.
