Common use of Easter weekend Clause in Contracts

Easter weekend. No work shall be performed after 13:00 on the day immediately preceding Good Friday and employees shall be granted the afternoon off as a paid half-holiday. The employee shall receive for such afternoon full pay in respect of the hours normally worked on Thursday afternoons. Where work is performed on such paid half-holiday, the employee shall, in addition to payment for such half-holiday, receive payment for time worked after 13:00 at overtime rates. No employer shall require or permit his employees to work in time at ordinary rates of pay or at overtime rates in substitution for the morning work period of the day immediately preceding Good Friday. This subclause shall not apply to a casual employee.
