Educational Assistants. 1. The Board may employ persons other than teachers to assist teachers in carrying out their responsibilities and duties under the School Act and Regulations. 2. An educational assistant shall work under the general supervision of an administrative officer and shall work under the instructional supervision of the teacher or administrative officer to whom they have been assigned. 3. Educational assistants shall assume only those instructional duties as directed or assigned. Educational assistants shall provide support for instruction and shall not be used to replace teachers. 4. No teacher will suffer loss of employment as a result of the employment of an educational assistant.
