Common use of Educational Improvement Leave Clause in Contracts

Educational Improvement Leave. Upon prior written notice, leaves of absence without pay may be granted for periods not to exceed one year for the purpose of educational improvement. Such leaves shall only be granted to the employees who have seniority. Seniority may be frozen as of the day the educational leave is granted and shall be reactivated upon the return or placement on the substitute list. Notice shall be in writing.
