Emergency Alerts. At all times during the term of this Franchise Agreement, the Grantee shall provide and maintain an “Emergency Alert System” (“EAS”) consistent with applicable Federal law and regulation – including 47 C.F.R., Part 11 and the “State of Illinois Emergency Alert System State Plan” – as may be amended from time to time. Should the Village become qualified and authorized to activate the EAS, the Grantee shall provide instructions on the access and use of the EAS by the Village to the Village on an annual basis. The Village agrees to indemnify and hold the Grantee harmless from any damages or penalties arising out of the negligence of the Village, its employees or agents in using such system.

EWO agrees that the Proposed Monument SignDisplay shall be available at all times to public law enforcement authorities and the Township to display Amber Alerts and other emergency messages. Township covenants and agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless EWO, and its respective officers, employees, members, partners, agents, and its and their respective affiliates (collectively, “Owner Parties”) from and against any and all liabilities, judgments, suits, claims, losses, damages, costs and expenses incurred in connection with or arising from any of Township’s messages posted on the Proposed Monument SignDisplay, including but not limited to any claim for defamation, or infringement of any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property or privacy right.
Emergency Alerts. The AISD Emergency Designee may receive approved College emergency communications and other important information by text message and email by signing up.

As required by law, Bell mobility distributes mandatory emergency alerts issued by government bodies (such as Environment and Climate Change Canada) that it received from the Alert Ready system (“Emergency Alerts”) to compatible Devices connected on the Bell LTE network. Bell or Hay are not responsible for the operation of the Alert Ready system, including the content, timing and/or receipt of an Emergency Alert.
