Entitlement to compassionate leave. For the purposes of this clause, compassionate leave is paid leave taken by the employee: (a) for the purposes of spending time with a person who: (i) is a member of the employee’s immediate family or a member of the employee’s household; and (ii) has a personal illness, or injury, that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or (iii) after the death of a member of the employee’s immediate family or a member of the employee’s household.

For the purposes of this clause, compassionate leave is paid leave taken by the employee: (a) An employee may take compassionate leave for a particular permissible occasion if the purposes of spending leave is taken: to spend time with a person who: (i) is a the member of the employee’s 's immediate family or a household who has contracted or developed the personal illness, or sustained the personal injury; or after the death of the member of the employee’s household; and (ii) has a personal illness, or injury, that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or (iii) after the death of a member of the employee’s 's immediate family or a member of the employee’s household. (b) An employee is entitled to two days of compassionate leave for each permissible occasion.
