Excessive Included Absences over More Than One Year. If an employee's record of included absences causes the employee’s absentee record to be higher than the standard for more than one year, then the progressive disciplinary action steps initiated and specified under the above section will continue uninterrupted from year to year. For example, if an employee reaches level 3 in the first year and receives Disciplinary Action Step 3, then exceeds the standard in the second year, Disciplinary Action Step 4 will be administered just as if the employee had reached that level in the first year.
