Unexcused Absences. Employees who are absent without approved leave (with the exception of emergencies) may be subject to discipline, up to and including discharge from employment.
Unexcused Absences. An unexcused absence is a part of a student’s school record. Students will be marked for an unexcused absence for: • Failure to Attend School: Failure to attend school, with or without the knowledge of the parent/legal guardian, for reasons other than those specifically outlined as excused absences will be considered unexcused absences.
Unexcused Absences. For all unexcused absences, students should report to the student office immediately upon return to school. Students may check with their 1st hour teachers if they are unsure whether their absence is excused or unexcused. Unless the student office has been notified, the absence will be marked “unexcused” and the student will have 24 hours to submit a written parental excuse. If the student has exceeded his/her 10-day limit, the written parental excuse must indicate one of the reasons defined in this policy as an acceptable excused absence to be considered an excused absence. The following reasons are not considered justified excused absences:
1. Tardy to school or class.
2. Leaving school during the day without permission and without signing out in the student office.
3. Leaving class or study hall without properly checking out.
4. Not reporting to a specific destination as indicated on a pass.
5. Wandering in halls or taking excessive time to report to assigned areas.
6. Pre-arranged absence beyond the 10-day cumulative absence limit (except verified/documented medical absences).
7. Forging notes or passes or falsified phone calls.
8. Shopping trips, hair/beauty/tanning appointments, picture taking, etc.
9. Working, child care, or helping out at home.
10. Excuses including, but not limited to: missed alarm; oversleeping; running late or parent/guardian running late; leaving school for leisure activities; car not starting.
11. Other conditions that would warrant an unexcused absence as deemed by Administration. Consequences for unexcused absences may include one or more of the following:
1. Phone call to parent/guardian.
2. Parent/guardian conference.
Unexcused Absences. (ODOT Coalition) Any unauthorized absence, including absence without notice, of an employee from duty may be deemed by the Agency to be an absence without pay and may be grounds for disciplinary action. In the absence of such disciplinary action, any employee who absents himself/herself for five (5) consecutive workdays without authorized leave shall be deemed to have resigned. Such absence shall be covered, however, by a subsequent grant of leave with or without pay, when extenuating circumstances are found to have existed.
Unexcused Absences. 2a of the Illinois School Code defines a chronic “truant” as a student absent without valid cause for 5 percent or more of the previous 180 regular attendance days. A student is truant when he/she is absent from school for a school day or portion thereof without valid cause. School tuition, extended care, and other incidental charges are managed by FACTS Management, the school’s tuition manager and payment plan provider. New families will receive an invitation from FACTS Management to open and finalize their FACTS Management account. Payments are made by automatic withdrawal (ACH) through a bank account chosen by the family. A choice of three payment plan options is offered: one installment of the entire tuition balance; two half installments in July and February; or ten monthly installments from July through April. Families must choose the date of the month the automatic withdrawal(s) will occur: the 1st, 10th, 15th, 20th or 25th of the month. FACTS Management will assess and collect a $30.00 late fee for each late payment. All tuition and fees must be paid in full by April 2016.
Unexcused Absences. 1. Employee attendance as scheduled is essential to the operation of the School District. Unexcused absences, abuse of leaves, or falsification of a Leave request shall be grounds for disciplinary action up to and including employment termination.
2. An employee is absent without excuse if he/she misses work and is not entitled to a leave of absence pursuant to state or federal law, or a provision of this Agreement.
3. An employee will not be charged with an “Unexcused Absence” if the reason he/she is out-of-work is an emergency situation as determined by the Building Principal and he/she makes up the missed time prior to the end of his/her work week.
Unexcused Absences. Tuition for unexcused absences is forfeited. Unexcused absences include the following scenarios:
1. Absences that exceed the number of excused absences (as specified above).
2. Absences with less than 24 hours notice. In order to be retained in Instructor’s schedule, Client must abide by the rules concerning the number of allowable excused absences and the payment for unexcused absences.
Unexcused Absences. Section 1: All absences, except as provided for in Articles XVI and XVIII, shall be deemed unexcused until such time as written explanation is received by the Board, at which time the Board will make the decision as to whether the absence in unexcused or excused. If no letter of explanation is received by the Board within three (3) working days after the employee returns to work, the absence shall be permanently recorded as unexcused. It shall be the responsibility of the employee to submit such letter without a request by the Board.
Section 2: Unexcused absences shall be just cause for discharge. The first such absence will subject an employee to a warning notice under the provisions of Article VII, Section 4. The second unexcused absence will subject an employee to discharge.
Section 3: An absence resulting from an emergency deemed excusable by the Board will not be considered a violation of this Article providing every reasonable effort is made to notify the Board in advance and the employee submits a written explanation of the absence after the fact. The Board will review the explanation and other known factors in order to determine whether the absence was excusable.
Section 4: Five (5) excused absences without pay will subject an employee to a warning notice, under the provision of Article VII, and the sixth (6) such absence will subject an employee to discharge.
Unexcused Absences. Those absences for which no valid or truthful reason is given or failure to follow proper procedures when requesting the absence.
Unexcused Absences. An unexcused absence is a part of a student’s school record. Students will be marked for an unexcused absence for failure to attend school. Failure to attend school, with or without the knowledge of the parent/legal guardian, for reasons other than those specifically outlined as excused absences above will be considered unexcused absences. TARDY POLICY ● Students will be considered tardy to school when they are not present at the beginning of the official school day, 8:00 a.m. A tardy will only be considered excused in cases with documentation of one of the above listed reasons. ● Students who are late to school must have their parent(s)/guardian(s) come into the school office to sign the student in as tardy and provide the reason for the tardiness. For carpools arriving late, the driver responsible for the carpool that day must come into the school office and sign in each student as tardy and provide the reason for the tardiness. Once the student(s) have been properly signed in, they will get a “late slip” for admittance to class. If this procedure is not followed, the student(s) will receive an unexcused tardy. ● Unexcused Tardy: Arriving late to school with or without the knowledge of parent/guardian, as a result of oversleeping, parent errands, etc. shall result in an unexcused tardy. Tardiness to school – whether the result of oversleeping, car problems, baby-sitting, athletic workouts, or socializing – is unacceptable. ● Excessive tardiness to school may result in disciplinary action under the Code of Conduct and/or referral to Child Protective Services. ● Students are required to be in their classrooms prior to the bell ringing. If a student is late to class, a consequence may be assigned. If it is an ongoing problem, further disciplinary action, including an office level referral, may be assigned.
