Experience Pay. (a) The Hospital may hire new employees at a rate higher than the starting rate set out herein, where the Hospital considers previous experience warrants a higher starting rate. (b) An employee hired by the Hospital with recent and related Hospital experience may claim at the time of hiring consideration for such experience. Any such claim shall be accompanied by verification of previously related Hospital experience. The Hospital shall then evaluate such experience during the probationary period. Experience is relevant, the employee shall be slotted in that step of the wage progression consistent with one (1) years’ service for every one (1) year of related experience in the classification. It is understood and agreed that this shall not constitute a violation of the wage schedule in the collective agreement.
