Extended School Year. All personnel assigned to summer sessions, shall be offered employment on a contract separate from the regular school year contract as per the negotiated calendar. Regular school year employees normally assigned to duties which will be extended into summer sessions shall have the first option of signing for said summer session. Should regular school year employees decline summer employment, the positions will be posted and filled as per 7.11 and 7.12. In the event of more than one eligible application, the selection will be made based on certification, qualification, and experience. All factors being equal, the qualified applicant with the most seniority within the district shall be awarded the position. Calculation of compensation for extended school year programs shall be as detailed in 11.11.
