Common use of Extended Tour of Duty Clause in Contracts

Extended Tour of Duty. A member who is required immediately following completion of a shift to work overtime of ½ (one-half) hour or more in excess of 10 (ten) consecutive hours of regular police work (for purposes of this Section 7.3 only to be deemed to be inclusive of the minimum 15 (fifteen) minutes preceding shift start time that a member is required to report for duty), shall be paid at the rate of 1½ (one and one-half) times the hourly rate of such member, computed on the basis of the member's regular working hours, for the first 2 consecutive hours of overtime worked by the member and at the rate of double the hourly rate computed as aforesaid, for all hours worked by such member in excess of 12 consecutive hours of regular police work. The overtime worked by a member to which the provisions of this Section 7.3 are applicable is in this Agreement referred to as "extended tour of duty".
