Extended Tours. (a) Extended tours shall be introduced into any unit when: i) Eighty percent (80%) of the nurses in the unit so indicate by secret ballot; and ii) the Hospital agrees to implement the extended tours. Such agreement shall not be withheld in an unreasonably arbitrary manner. (b) Extended tours may be discontinued in any unit when: i) Fifty percent (50%) of the nurses in the unit so indicate by secret ballot; or ii) the Hospital, because of A) adverse effects on patient care, or B) inability to provide a workable staffing schedule, states its intention to discontinue the extended tours in the schedule. (c) When notice of discontinuation is given by either party in accordance with paragraph (b) above, then: i) The parties shall meet within two (2) weeks of the giving of notice to review the request for discontinuation; and ii) where it is determined that the extended tours will be discontinued, affected nurses shall be given sixty (60) days notice before the schedules are so amended. (d) The following regulations shall govern the scheduling of work for nurses working extended tours: i) The Hospital shall ensure each nurse every second weekend off. ii) Nurses will not be required to work more than three (3) consecutive tours excluding DD/NN and combination shift schedules. iii) All other scheduling regulations which apply to nurses working the regular daily tour as provided in Article H.

(a) Extended tours A compressed work week shall be introduced into any unit when:
i) Eighty percent eighty per cent (80%) of the nurses employees in the unit so indicate by secret ballot; and
ii) the Hospital agrees to implement the extended tours. Such compressed work week, such agreement shall not be withheld in an unreasonably unreasonable arbitrary manner.
(b) Extended tours A compressed work week may be discontinued in any unit when:
i) Fifty percent fifty per cent (50%) of the nurses employees in the unit so indicate by secret ballot; or
ii) the Hospital, Hospital because of
(A) adverse effects on patient care, or,

(c) When notice of discontinuation is given by either party in accordance with paragraph (b2) above, then:

ii) Nurses will not be required to work more than three (3) consecutive tours excluding DD/NN and combination shift schedules.
iii) All other scheduling regulations which apply to nurses working the regular daily tour as provided in Article H.

Extended Tours. The introduction of extended tours will be implemented where the nurses on the unit have requested and will require a vote of Full Time and Part Time nurses on the Unit. The implementation and the discontinuance of the extended tours will require an eighty (80) percent of the nurses that vote. Extended tour scheduling will include the following provisions:
(a) Extended tours shall Nurses will be introduced into any unit whenscheduled every other weekend off. If the nurse is required to work on a second consecutive and subsequent weekend the nurse will receive premium pay as per the Collective Agreement for all hours worked on the weekend and subsequent weekends until a full weekend is scheduled off, except where:
i) Eighty percent (80%) of Such weekend has been worked by the nurses in nurse to satisfy specific days off requested by the unit so indicate by secret ballotnurse; andor
ii) The nurse is working the Hospital agrees to implement the extended tours. Such agreement shall not be withheld in weekend as a result of an unreasonably arbitrary mannerexchange of shifts with another nurse; or
iii) The nurse has requested weekend work.
(b) Nurses will not be scheduled more than four (4) consecutive extended tours;
(c) There will be a minimum of twelve (12) hours off between scheduled extended tours and a minimum of forty- eight (48) hours off after a period of night shifts unless otherwise agreed by the nurse and the Employer. Extended tours tour scheduling may be discontinued in any unit whenby the Hospital for reasons of:
(i) Fifty percent (50%) of the nurses in the unit so indicate by secret ballot; or
ii) the Hospital, because of
A) adverse Adverse effects on patient care, ; or
B(ii) inability Inability to provide a workable staffing schedule, states its intention to discontinue the extended tours in the schedule.
(ciii) Where the Hospital wishes to do so for other reasons which are neither unreasonable nor arbitrary. When notice of discontinuation is given by either party in accordance with paragraph (b) the above, then:
i) The the parties shall meet within two (2) weeks of the giving of notice to review the request for the discontinuation; and
ii) where it is determined that the extended tours scheduling initiative will be discontinued, affected nurses employees shall be given sixty six (606) days weeks' notice before the schedules are so amendedscheduling initiative is discontinued.
(d) The following regulations shall govern the scheduling of work for nurses working extended tours:
i) The Hospital shall ensure each nurse every second weekend off.
ii) Nurses will not be required to work more than three (3) consecutive tours excluding DD/NN and combination shift schedules.
iii) All other scheduling regulations which apply to nurses working the regular daily tour as provided in Article H.
