Common use of Extension of Leave Clause in Contracts

Extension of Leave. A one-year leave may be extended for an additional year. Application for extension must be submitted in writing, to the superintendent or designee by March 1 (the year of the leave), and will be granted or denied no later than April 1. If extension is denied, the teacher then has the right to reinstatement pursuant to Section 1 or this Article if the teacher requests reinstatement by May 1.
