Common use of Extension of Probation Periods Clause in Contracts

Extension of Probation Periods. 1. An employee who is out for fifteen (15) calendar days or more during his/her probation period shall have the probation period extended by the length of the leave of absence beyond fifteen (15) days. 2. Upon the recommendation of the Assistant Chief/Department Head or his/her designee or at the request of the employee with the concurrence of the Assistant Chief/Department Head or his/her designee, the probationary period of an employee may be extended for a period not to exceed one hundred eighty (180) calendar days. If probation is extended, the employee will be notified in writing and before the initial probation period ends.
