Common use of Extra Duty Assignments Clause in Contracts

Extra Duty Assignments. ‌ Employees who are offered non-instructional extra duty assignments by the adjunct supervisor which are in excess of normal professional responsibilities and extend beyond normal work day or work year, will be provided extra compensation upon approval by the Vice President. Employees shall have the right to refuse non-instructional extra duty assignments. Rate of compensation for such extra duty assignments shall be agreed upon between the employee and the adjunct supervisor and must be approved by the Vice President prior to the work being performed. If an extra duty assignment is cancelled prior to completion, the employee will be paid a pro-rated amount for work performed.
