Common use of FACULTY ADVISORY COMMITTEE Clause in Contracts

FACULTY ADVISORY COMMITTEE. It is specifically agreed that whenever a reduction in force is necessary due to non- viability of programs, financial exigency, budget reductions, over-staffing or by the direction of the Legislature, a faculty advisory committee shall be established at the affected College to provide recommendations to the Board. In each instance the faculty advisory committee shall be established by the President. Members of the committee shall be recommended by the Faculty Senate. In each instance, the faculty advisory committee shall provide recommendations regarding the reduction in force within the time limits established by the Board. The President shall provide the advisory committee with criteria and data that will be considered to determine program viability. The advisory committee shall also consider academic programs and academic services. It is specifically agreed that the faculty advisory committee recommendation shall be advisory only and that any final decisions regarding the necessity of reduction in force shall be reserved to the College administration and Board.
