Common use of Family Illness/Emergency Leave Clause in Contracts

Family Illness/Emergency Leave. Each Employee may use his or her sick leave days for serious illness or accident/injury to a member of the immediate family or designated legal xxxx of the employee. The immediate family is interpreted to mean spouse, child, Son-in-Law, Daughter-in-Law, xxxxxx child, step child, parent, xxxxxx parent, step parent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, Grandparent or Grandchild. Such emergency leave shall be deducted from the Employee’s accumulated sick leave. The Superintendent may consider special relationships not specifically mentioned above, but falling within its intent.
