In-Service Meetings a. The number of employees attending an in-service meeting will be decided by the Administration after considering the type and length of the meeting, location, number of individual sessions, needs of the employee, and the school and costs.
In-Service Meetings. When the Employer schedules mandatory in-service, such time spent shall be paid for the actual time spent in the meeting, at the employee’s straight time regular rate of pay. Due regard to the employees work schedule shall be considered. As much advance notice as possible shall be given by the Employer of such meetings.
In-Service Meetings. (a) The Association may submit requests for courses, workshops and programs designed to improve the quality of instruction to the Superintendent who will present the requests along with his recommendation to the Board of Education.
(b) The Association agrees to submit the following information with each request:
(1) Rationale for such a meeting or course;
(2) Extent staff members were involved in arriving at this request;
(3) The number of teachers who would participate;
(4) Estimated cost of project;
(5) The facilities needed;
(6) Time when this project would take place.
(c) No additional compensation will be granted to teachers attending inservice meetings. Failure of the Board to approve a request would not be subject to grievance.
In-Service Meetings. One full-day or two half-day in-service meetings per year for all special education teachers shall be scheduled on professional development days. Such meetings shall be held on an area, district, assignment or similar basis to discuss educational, medical and other topics related to their assignments. After consultation with and consent of the school principals, special education teachers may elect between district-wide or locally provided PD when they are offered on the same day.
In-Service Meetings. 14.01 It is the prerogative of the administration to schedule meetings of classified personnel periodically.
14.02 Each classified employee, within the designated classification, shall be required to attend all scheduled meetings.
14.03 Classified employee meetings, when possible, shall be held during regular work hours.
In-Service Meetings. A minimum of eight (8) hours of in-service will be held for classified employees. It may be scheduled in increments of less than eight (8) hours and may be scheduled separately for the various groups of classified employees. Notice of the dates shall be provided to the employees as early as possible each year. If an in- service meeting is scheduled by the Employer, employees shall be required to attend, unless approved for an excused absence by the employee's Department Supervisor.
In-Service Meetings. All mandatory in-service meetings will be paid for at the rates listed in Schedule "A".
In-Service Meetings. Subject to the approval of the Superintendent and building Principal, where applicable, non-certified employees may attend in-service meetings, conferences, and workshops. Expenses paid by the Board not to exceed actual expenses, plus approved mileage, upon prior approval of the Superintendent.
In-Service Meetings. Employees required to attend in-service meetings shall be paid at their regular rate of pay for time spent in the in-service, or as otherwise required by law. Employees required to attend out of town in-service meetings shall be paid mileage if the Employer does not provide transportation.
In-Service Meetings. 29.1 When an employee is on duty and authorized to attend any in-service program within the Home during regularly scheduled working hours, the employee shall suffer no loss of regular pay. When an employee is required by the Employer to attend courses outside regularly scheduled working hours for a period no greater than two hours, the employee shall be paid for all time spent in attendance of such courses at the employee’s regular straight time hourly rate of pay.
