Family Illness Leave. During each calendar year, a Unit Member may use earned and available regular sick leave to attend to the illness of a child, parent, or spouse of the Unit Member. For purposes of this section, “spouse” includes the domestic partner of a Unit Member as defined by section 297 of the California Family Code.
