Field Training Deputy (FTD) - At the completion of one (1) continuous year of active FTD service, the FTD will receive .20 percentage points added to a passing final score of any promotional opportunity for Sergeant in which he or she is eligible. Every additional continuous year thereafter, as long as the FTD continues to remain active as an FTD, he or she shall receive an additional .20 of a percentage point added to their passing final score of any promotional opportunity for Sergeant in which he or she is eligible. These points will accumulate until a maximum of one (1) percentage point is reached and will remain accrued and available for use on any promotional exam for Sergeant until a promotion is reached. These accrual points will not expire until used. Eligibility time begins on June 15, 2017. Once the FTD has received a promotion to Sergeant, he or she will no longer be eligible to receive any points as set forth in this paragraph. Eligibility for these additional .20 percentage point calculation (s) will be verified in writing by the Training Division and supplied to the Bureau of Human Resources by the bargaining unit member with their application for promotion (prior to the closing date of the posting) who seeks to have the additional partial points added to his/her passing final promotional score. This paragraph shall be enforced for all promotional lists that will be created, and no additional points will be added to the scores of the current Sergeant’s promotional list.

  • Field Training Officers The position of Field Training Officer (FTO) shall be held by a Trooper or Sergeant who most closely meets the requirements set forth by the Employer which are outlined in policy OSP-501.08. If the Employer determines there are an insufficient number of qualified volunteers, it may appoint other individuals to be FTOs. The District Commander shall make the final selections. A supplement of eight hundred dollars ($800.00) shall be given to all FTOs for the sixty (60) working day training period. This amount will be prorated in instances where the training period is cut short or lengthened. Field Training Officers and their trainees will be required to work twenty (20) days on each of the three shifts during the training period.
