Filling Posted Job Vacancies. (a) The Employer shall acknowledge receipt of each application for a posted job vacancy and the applicants and the Union shall be advised of the name of the person selected to fill the vacancy and the employment status and seniority date of that person. (b) The selection of employees under this Article rests with the Employer, however, such selections shall be subject to the Grievance and Arbitration provisions of this Agreement. (c) On request, the employer shall give an unsuccessful applicant full reasons why the employee’s application was not successful. (d) Where any employee has been selected to fill a posted job vacancy pursuant to this Agreement, the Employer shall undertake to move the employee into a new position on the date the vacancy was to be filled or as soon thereafter as possible.
