Finish for Formed Surfaces. The type of finish for formed concrete surfaces shall be as follows, unless otherwise specified. For surface against which backfill or concrete is to be placed, no treatment is required except repair of defective areas. For surfaces below grade, which will receive, waterproofing treatment the concrete shall be free of surface irregularities, which would interfere with proper application of the waterproofing material, which is specified for use. Unless specified, surfaces which will be exposed when the structure is in service shall receive no special finish, except repair of damaged or defective concrete, removal of fins and abrupt irregularities, filling of holes left by form ties and rods and clean up of loose or adhering debris. Surfaces which will be exposed to the weather and which would normally be level, shall be sloped for drainage. Unless the drawing specifies a horizontal surface or shows the slope required, the tops of narrow surface such as stair treads, walls, curbs and parapets shall be sloped across the width approximately 1 in 30. Broader surface such as walkways, roads, parking areas and platforms shall be sloped about 1 in 50. Surfaces that will be covered by backfill or concrete, sub-floors to be covered with concrete topping, terrazzo or quarry tile and similar surfaces shall be smoothing screened and levelled to produce even surfaces. Surface irregularities shall not exceed 6 mm. Surfaces which will not be covered by backfill, concrete or tiles toppings such as outside decks, floors of galleries and sumps, parapets, gutters, side walks, floors and slabs, shall be consolidated, screened and floated. Excess water and laitance shall be removed before final finishing. Floating may be done with hand or power tools and started as soon as the screened surface has attained the stiffness to permit finishing operations and these shall be the minimum required to produce a surface uniform in texture and free from screed marks or other imperfections. Joints and edges shall be tooled as called for on the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-In-Charge. Standard finish for exposed concrete Exposed concrete shall mean any concrete, other than floors or slabs, exposed to view upon completion of the job. Unless otherwise specified on the drawings, the standard finish for exposed concrete shall be a smooth finish.   • Road Surfaces (1) Grade, shape, crown, and/or outslope surface and shoulders.

  • Influenza Vaccine Upon recommendation of the Medical Officer of Health, all employees shall be required, on an annual basis to be vaccinated and or to take antiviral medication for influenza. If the costs of such medication are not covered by some other sources, the Employer will pay the cost for such medication. If the employee fails to take the required medication, she may be placed on an unpaid leave of absence during any influenza outbreak in the home until such time as the employee has been cleared by the public health or the Employer to return to the work environment. The only exception to this would be employees for whom taking the medication will result in the employee being physically ill to the extent that she cannot attend work. Upon written direction from the employee’s physician of such medical condition in consultation with the Employer’s physician, (if requested), the employee will be permitted to access their sick bank, if any, during any outbreak period. If there is a dispute between the physicians, the employee will be placed on unpaid leave. If the employee gets sick as a reaction to the drug and applies for WSIB the Employer will not oppose the application. If an employee is pregnant and her physician believes the pregnancy could be in jeopardy as a result of the influenza inoculation and/or the antiviral medication she shall be eligible for sick leave in circumstances where she is not allowed to attend at work as a result of an outbreak. This clause shall be interpreted in a manner consistent with the Ontario Human Rights Code.

  • Influenza Vaccination The parties agree that influenza vaccinations may be beneficial for patients and employees. Upon a recommendation pertaining to a facility or a specifically designated area(s) thereof from the Medical Officer of Health or in compliance with applicable provincial legislation, the following rules will apply:

  • Cutting, Patching, and Fitting The Contractor shall do all cutting, patching, and fitting of the Work that may be required to make its several parts come together properly and fit.

  • Samples Physical examples of materials, equipment, or workmanship that are representative of some portion of the Work and that establish the standards by which such portion of the Work will be judged. The Contractor shall furnish for approval all samples required by the Contract Documents. The Work shall be in accordance with approved samples.

  • Transporting Students Teachers shall not be required to transport a student in a private vehicle on behalf of the school.

  • Study Area The study area focused on the Bulk Power System in South-Eastern New York between Albany and New York City, and voltages underlying systems at 115 kV and above in the lower Xxxxxx Valley (Zones G, H & I). In the PSS™E power flow base case provided by NYISO, facilities rated at 115 kV and above in PSS™E designated areas 6 through 11 are monitored in the study. These areas are: • Capital District • Xxxxxx • Millwood • Xxxxxxxxx • Con Ed • Long Island

  • Biological Samples If so specified in the Protocol, Institution and Principal Investigator may collect and provide to Sponsor or its designee Biological Samples (“Biological Samples”). 12.2.

  • ROAD DIMENSIONS Purchaser shall perform road work in accordance with the dimensions shown on the TYPICAL SECTION SHEET and the specifications within this road plan.

  • Geological and Archeological Specimens If, during the execution of the Work, the Contractor, any Subcontractor, or any servant, employee, or agent of either should uncover any valuable material or materials, such as, but not limited to, treasure trove, geological specimens, archival material, archeological specimens, or ore, the Contractor acknowledges that title to the foregoing is vested in the Owner. The Contractor shall notify the Owner upon the discovery of any of the foregoing, shall take reasonable steps to safeguard it, and seek further instruction from the Design Professional. Any additional cost incurred by the Contractor shall be addressed under the provision for changed conditions. The Contractor agrees that the Geological and Water Resources Division and the Historic Preservation Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources may inspect the Work at reasonable times.
