Funeral Leave and Immediate Family. An employee shall be granted time off with 3 pay, not to be deducted from sick leave, for the purposes of attending a funeral of a member of 4 the employee's immediate family. The employee shall be entitled to a maximum of three (3) 5 work days (24 hours) for each death in his immediate family. For the purposes of funeral leave, 6 “immediate family” shall be defined as to only include the employee's spouse, children or 7 parents, step-children, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister, step-parents, grandchildren, 8 grandparents, step-grandparents, and step-grandchildren. 9
