Health and Safety Committee. 1. A District Health and Safety Committee shall be established by the employer to coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committees established at worksites. a. The District Health and Safety Committee shall assist in creating a safe and healthy place of work and learning. b. The District Health and Safety Committee shall be composed of four (4) regular members: one (1) chosen by and representing the Union, one (1) chosen by and representing any other employee union, and two (2) chosen by the Employer. c. The Chairperson and Secretary shall be elected from and by the members of the committee. Where the Chairperson is an employer member, the Secretary shall be an employee member and vice versa. d. (2) reports of current accidents, their causes and means of prevention;
(3) remedial action taken as required by the reports of investigations and inspections;
(4) recommendations from the Union and other claim procedures will immediately be made available to employees of the Board, and recommend implementation where warranted;
(5) any other matters pertinent to health and safetyupon request.
v. Notwithstanding D.28.d.iv any party 10. The Union may call request a District Health and Safety meeting for an emergent situation at any timemeeting, twice per year, or as needed, to discuss questions/concerns about current renovation projects in bargaining unit areas. Such request will not be unreasonably denied.

Health and Safety Committee. 1. 29.01 The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually agree to maintain standards of safety and health in the facility in order to prevent injury and illness.
29.02 A District Joint Health and Safety Committee shall be established by continued with at least fifty percent (50%) of its membership representative of the employer bargaining unit.

(f) Management will continue initiatives currently in place which assist in the reduction of physical strain for Employees who continuously work on VDT's. Further initiatives should be discussed within the Health and Safety Committee.
6. The University shall provide, on work time, safety and health training which is either required by law or agreed to between the parties. All training issues will be referred to the Health and Safety Committee.
7. In the event that an Employee shall be exposed to any communicable disease, the University agrees to promptly review proper procedures to be followed by Employees exposed to such communicable diseases.

e. Unsafe Working Conditions A teacher will not be required to work in a classroom which does not conform to health and safety standards as provided for under the School Act or Workers’ Compensation Board regulations. If a teacher is concerned about the conditions pertaining to the teacher’s or students’ health and safety.
v. Notwithstanding D.28.d.iv any party may call a District , the teacher shall immediately report such concerns to the supervising Administrative Officer or designate, who will ensure that work is performed without due risk. If the matter remains unresolved, it shall be referred to the Health and Safety meeting Committee. A teacher shall not be disciplined or penalized for an emergent situation refusal to work in conditions that he/she reasonably believes are unsafe or where health is at any timerisk.

Health and Safety Committee. 124.01 The Employer and the Union agree that they recognize as a first priority the employee's right to standards of safety and health at Heavenly Rest in order to prevent accidents, injury or illness. The Employer shall make every reasonable effort to prevent and/or correct any situation which may compromise any employee's health and safety. It is agreed the Occupational Health and Safety Act will be deemed to be part of this Agreement, and the Employer and the Union agree to abide by its provisions.
24.02 A District Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) shall be continued and/or established with a minimum of two (2) members and two alternates (2), at least fifty (50%) percent representation selected or appointed by Local 2 from amongst the employees. The Joint Health and Safety Committee shall be established co-chaired by one Union representative and one Employer representative.
24.03 Such committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programmes and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health. The Employer will respond in writing within ten (10) calendar days to any formal recommendation of the employer to coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committees established at worksitesCommittee.
a. 24.04 The District Employer agrees to provide necessary and pertinent information to enable the committee to fulfil its functions.
24.05 Meetings shall be held quarterly or more frequently if required. Minutes shall be taken of all meetings and copies be sent to the Employer and to the Union. Time spent in such meetings is to be considered time worked as well as one hour of paid time to prepare for the meeting.
(a) Two representatives of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, one from Management and one from the Union, shall make quarterly inspections of the work place and equipment and shall report to the health and safety committee the results of their inspection. Wherever possible, inspections shall be carried out by workers certified by the Workers' Health and Safety Centre. Time spent shall be considered time worked.
(b) In the event of accident or injury, such representatives shall be notified immediately and shall investigate and report as soon as possible to the Committee, the Union and the Employer on the nature and cause of the accident or injury and on recommended action. Time spent shall be considered time worked.
(c) Such representatives shall be notified of the inspection of a government inspector and shall have the right to accompany them on their inspections. Time spent in all such activities shall be considered time worked.
24.07 The Union, the Joint Health and Safety Committee, and the representatives thereof, shall have full access to accident reports and other health and safety records in the possession of the Employer, including records, reports and data provided to and by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and other government agencies.
24.08 The Health and Safety Committee shall assist in creating a safe and healthy place of work and learning.
b. The District members must report back to their principals with respect to any changes stemming from the Health and Safety Committee shall be composed of four (4) regular members: one (1) chosen by for support and representing the Unionapproval, one (1) chosen by and representing any other employee union, and two (2) chosen by the Employerrecognizing their mutual obligation under Article 29.01.

If such a transfer is not feasible, the pregnant Employee, if she so requests, will be granted an unpaid leave of absence before commencement of the maternity leave referred to in Article 20.

10. Semi-monthly meetings will be set up in Xxxxxx Library to review questions/concerns with respect to the renovation project currently underway.
11. Any and all grievances arising from this clause may be filed at least two Step 3.
12. Adequate space, such as room 104, Xxxxxx Library, will be made available to 1199/SEIU's Hypertension Unit for half a day twice a month over a period of twelve (212) times per year months. The University will make efforts to continue to provide space for the review of:
(1) reports of school level Joint Health and Safety Committees;
(2) reports of current accidents, their causes and means of prevention;
(3) remedial action taken as required by the reports of investigations and inspections;
(4) recommendations from the Union and other employees of the Board, and recommend implementation where warranted;
(5) any other matters pertinent to health and safetyHypertension Unit.
v. Notwithstanding D.28.d.iv any party may call a District Health and Safety meeting for an emergent situation at any time.

a) The parties agree to abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations. A District The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the workplace, in order to prevent injury and illness.
b) There shall be three (3) members of the bargaining unit and three (3) members of management as members of its Joint Health and Safety Committee shall (JHSC). One member of the bargaining unit committee and one member of the management committee are to be established by certified members. It is agreed that when possible other members of the employer to coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committees established at worksitesCommittee will successfully complete certification training. Furthermore, such representatives must be notified of the inspection of a government inspector and shall have the right to accompany the inspector on her/his inspections.
g) The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full cooperation of its membership in the observation of all safety rules and practices.
h) All time spent by a member of the committee in attending JHSC meetings and attending to the work of the JHSC shall be considered as time worked and paid at the regular or premium rate as may be proper.
i) Both parties recognize their responsibility in providing a respectful workplace and a workplace that copies is free of relevant publications are available violence, abuse and harassment. The Employer and the Union recognize their joint obligation to comply with all duties and responsibilities under the OHSA as may be amended from time to time. The Employer recognizes its responsibility in each schooltaking every reasonable measure in providing a workplace free of violence and abuse. The Workplace Violence and Harassment Policies (HS-33 and HS-34) will be reviewed and amended as required by the Board of Directors with recommendations from the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee and a copy will be provided to the Union. j) Committee members shall be afforded time from work to attend all meetings of the JHSC and every effort shall be made to schedule all meetings to permit attendance of all committee members.
k) Committee members shall be afforded scheduled time off work as necessary to carry out their responsibilities between regular meetings of the Committee as determined by the JHSC.
l) Safety procedures will be implemented as a minimum step to ensure the safety of all employees. In the event that the employee identifies to the employer a safety risk in the direct performance of his/her duties the employer shall meet with the employee within twenty-four (24) hours and assess the degree of risk and develop a plan to ensure the safety of the employee while in the performance of his/her duties. This shall not preclude employees’ rights to refuse unsafe work as allowed by applicable legislation.
m) In the event of an accident or injury, representatives of the JHSC shall be notified immediately and shall investigate and report as soon as possible to the Committee and to the Employer on the nature and causes of the accident or injury.
n) The Parties recognize their duty to accommodate an employee’s disability.

Health and Safety Committee. 117.04.1 There shall be a joint Health and Safety Committee consisting of two (2) representatives each from both the Union and Management. A District Each party shall select its own representatives.

v. Notwithstanding D.28.d.iv any party may call a District Health and Safety meeting for an emergent situation at any time.
vi. Record the proceedings statement of the committee and forward sequence of events which preceded the minutes promptly accident;
(vi) the identification of any unsafe condition, acts or procedures which contributed in any manner to the employer and accident;
(vii) recommended corrective actions to prevent similar occurrences;
(viii) the Unionnames of the persons who investigated the accident.
vii. Ensure that copies of relevant publications are available in each school.
