Common use of Health & Safety Committee Clause in Contracts

Health & Safety Committee. a. The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the Home in order to prevent accidents, injury and illness. b. Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Employer agrees to accept as a member of its Health and Safety Committee at least two (2) representatives selected or appointed by the Union from amongst bargaining unit employees. c. Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health. d. The Employer agrees to cooperate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the committee to fulfill its functions. In addition, the Employer will provide the committee with reasonable access to all accident reports, health and safety records and any other pertinent information in its possession. e. Meetings shall be held every three (3) months or more frequently at the call of the Chair, if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. f. Any representatives appointed or selected in accordance with (b) hereof, shall serve for a term of at least one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment. Time off for such representative(s) to attend meetings of the Health and Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing, shall be granted and any representative(s) attending such meetings during their regularly scheduled hours of work, shall not lose regular earnings as a result of such attendance. g. The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full cooperation of its membership in the observation of all safety rules and practices. h. All time spent by a member of the Health and Safety Committee attending meetings of the Committee and carrying out her duties, shall be deemed to be work time for which she shall be paid for the Employer at her regular rate and she shall be entitled to such time from work as is necessary to attend scheduled meetings

Health & Safety Committee. a. The Committee shall meet at least every three months or more frequently if the Committee decides. The Employer agrees to accept as a member of its Joint Health and Safety Committee at least two one (21) representatives ONA representative selected or appointed by the Union from amongst bargaining unit employeesthe Employer. Scheduled time spent in such meetings is to be considered time worked for which representative(s) shall be paid by the Employer at his or her regular or overtime rate. Minutes shall be taken of all meetings and copies shall be sent to the Committee members. Minutes of the meetings shall be posted on the workplace health & safety bulletin board. c. (c) Such Committee committees shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health Health and safety programs Safety programs, and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related relating to safety Occupational Health and healthSafety. d. (d) The Employer agrees to cooperate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the committee to fulfill its functions. In additionfunction. (e) The Joint Health and Safety Committee and the representatives thereof shall have access to Incident/Accident Report Form required in s.51, s.52 and s.53 of the Act and the annual summary of data from the WSIB relating to the number of work accident fatalities, the Employer number of lost workday cases, the number of non-fatal cases that required medical aid without lost workdays, the incidence of occupational injuries, and such other data as the WSIB may decide to disclose. It is understood and agreed that no information will provide be provided to the committee with reasonable access to all accident reports, health and safety records and any other pertinent which is confidential. This information shall be a standing item recorded in its possessionthe minutes of each meeting. e. (f) Meetings shall be held every three (3) months quarterly or more frequently at the call of the Chair, if required. The Committee committees shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. f. Any representatives appointed or selected in accordance with (bg) hereof, shall serve for a term of at least one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment. Time off for such representative(s) to attend meetings of the Health and Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing, shall be granted and any representative(s) attending such meetings during their regularly scheduled hours of work, shall not lose regular earnings as a result of such attendance. g. The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full cooperation of its membership in the observation of all safety rules and practices. h. All time spent by a member of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee committee attending meetings of the Committee committee and carrying out her duties, duties shall be deemed to be work time worked for which she shall be paid for by the Employer at her regular rate premium rate, as may be proper, and she shall be entitled to such time from work her work, as is necessary necessary. (h) The parties will abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act. (i) The parties further agree that suitable subjects for discussion at the Labour Management Committee will include aggressive residents. The Employer will review with the Joint Health and Safety Committee written policies to attend scheduled meetingsaddress the management of violent behavior. Such policies will include but not be limited to: i) Designing safe procedures for employees. ii) Providing training appropriate to these policies. iii) Reporting all incidents of workplace violence.

In addition, the Employer will provide the committee with reasonable access to all accident reports, health and safety records and any other pertinent information in its possessionfunction. e. e) Meetings shall be held every three (3) months second month or more frequently at the call of the Chair, Chair if required. Time off for such representative(s) to attend meetings of the Accident Prevention – Health and Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing, foregoing shall be granted and any representative(s) time so spent attending such meetings during their regularly scheduled hours shall be deemed to be work time for which the representative(s) shall be paid by the Employer at his or her regular or premium rate of work, shall not lose regular earnings pay as a result of such attendance.may be applicable g. g) The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full cooperation co-operation of its membership in the observation of all safety rules and practices. h. All time spent by a member h) Pregnant Employees may request to be transferred from their current duties if, in the professional opinion of the Health and Safety Committee attending meetings Employee’s physician, the pregnancy may be at risk. If such a transfer is not feasible, the pregnant Employee, if she so requests, will be granted an unpaid leave of absence before commencement of the Committee and carrying out her duties, shall be deemed Pregnancy Leave referred to be work time for which she shall be paid for the Employer at her regular rate and she shall be entitled to such time from work as is necessary to attend scheduled meetingsin Article 17.03.

(a) The Employer Hospital and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the Home Hospital in order to prevent accidents, injury and illness. b. (b) Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Employer Hospital agrees to accept as a member of its Accident Prevention Health and & Safety Committee at least two (2) representatives selected or appointed by the Union from amongst bargaining unit employeesemployees provided that one (1) such representative shall be from the Oakville site and one (1) such representative shall be from the Xxxxxx site. c. (c) Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health. d. (d) The Employer Hospital agrees to cooperate co-operate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the committee Committee to fulfill its functions. In addition, the Employer will provide the committee with reasonable access to all accident reports, health and safety records and any other pertinent information in its possession. e. (e) Meetings shall be held every three (3) months second month or more frequently at the call of the Chair, Chair if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. f. (g) The Union agrees to endeavour endeavor to obtain the full cooperation co-operation of its membership memberships in the observation of all safety rules and practices. h. All time spent by a member (h) Pregnant employees may request to be transferred from their current duties if, in the professional opinion of the Health and Safety Committee attending meetings employee’s physician, the pregnancy may be at risk. If such a transfer is not feasible, the pregnant employee, if she so requests will be granted an unpaid leave of absence before commencement of the Committee and carrying out her dutiesmaternity leave referred to in Article 12.06. (i) Where the Hospital identified high-risk areas where employees are exposed to Hepatitis B, shall be deemed the Hospital will provide at no cost to be work time for which she shall be paid for the Employer at her regular rate and she shall be entitled to such time from work as is necessary to attend scheduled meetingsemployees, a Hepatitis B vaccine.

(d) The Employer agrees to cooperate co-operate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the committee Committee to fulfill its functions. In addition, the Employer will provide the committee with reasonable access to all accident reports, health and safety records and any other pertinent information in its possession. e. (e) Meetings shall be held every three (3) months or more frequently at the call of the Chair, if requiredmonthly. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. f. (f) Any representatives representative appointed or selected in accordance with (b) hereof, hereof shall serve for a term of at least one (1) calendar year from the date of appointmentappointment which may be renewed for further periods of one year. (g) The Union agrees to endeavour endeavor to obtain the full cooperation co-operation of its membership memberships in the observation of all safety rules and practices. h.
