Holiday Policy on Scheduled Day Off. 1. When a holiday falls on a day which is part of the employee’s scheduled days off, employees shall not be required to use holiday leave time from their holiday leave bank. 2. When a holiday occurs on a day on which an employee is scheduled to work, the employee shall take such holiday leave as is appropriate to their work schedule.

Holiday leave hours will be moved at the beginning of the calendar year into the employee’s floating holiday bank. These hours may be used in hourly increments at the employee’s request under the same guidelines as vacation time; however, holiday leave hours may not be carried over from one calendar year to the next.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An Employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double time and one-half (2½) for hours worked, plus a day off subject to this Agreement.
