HOURS OF WORK AND PREMIUM PAY. Section 1 The normal work year shall be based on 2,080 hours per year. Premium pay in the form of cash or compensatory time off, at one and one-half (1 1/2) times the base rate, shall be paid for hours worked or taken as paid leave in excess of the normal schedule cycle as a proportion of the normal work year. Premium pay shall be earned for hours worked in excess of the normal schedule day unless such hours are necessary to develop the required hours in the normal schedule cycle, again, based on a normal work year of 2,080 hours. Section 5 The Employer may honor voluntary requests and acceptance of shift exchanges between bargaining unit employees, but only in the event that there is no adverse effect upon the Department program and functions. Refusal to grant shift exchanges shall not be grievable. Section 6 $1. 50 per hour will be added to the Deputies rate of pay as a shift differential for all hours worked between 6:00 p.m. (1800) and 6:00 a.m. (0600). $.75 per hour will be added to the Public Safety Telecommunicators rate of pay as an afternoon shift differential, and $1.50 per hour as a night shift differential. If employees are held over at work on a night shift that extends into a day shift for reasons beyond their control, the night shift differential shall remain in effect. $1.50 per hour will be added to the rate of pay as sift differential for all hours worked on shifts that start on Saturdays or Sundays. (Ex: 0:00pm-6:00am on Friday night to Saturday morning would not receive premium pay. 6:00pm-6:00am on Sunday night to Monday morning would receive premium pay)

HOURS OF WORK AND PREMIUM PAY. Overtime shall be calculated to complete shift if she works the nearest fifteen (15) minutesbalance of the shift. There shall be a break of at least sixteen (16) hours between shifts. Employees called in before the expiration of the required break between shifts shall be entitled to the overtime rate of pay for that shift. 8.08 Except by agreement between the Employer and the employee concerned, no employee shall work more than six (6) consecutive days or more than twenty (20) days in any four (4) week period. However, employees may change shifts, in which case, no employee shall work in excess of seven (7) consecutive days due to such a change. Overtime shall not be paid if an employee works more than six (6) consecutive days due to a voluntary exchange with another employee. 8.09 If a full-time employee is called in by the Employer to work on her day off, she shall be paid at one and one-half (1 1/21.5) times her regular rate of pay for the base ratehours worked, shall be paid for hours provided that she has already worked or taken as paid leave in excess of the normal schedule cycle as a proportion of the normal work year. (a) Any hours to be worked in excess of regularly scheduled hours must be pre-authorized by the supervisor. (b) Where permanent part-time and relief Employees have all worked thirty-five (35) hours in a week and the Employer decides to schedule overtime, such scheduled overtime will first be offered to full-time or permanent part-time employees whose name is on 2,080 the Extended Hours Roster on a rotational basis by seniority on a branch by branch basis. 16.04 For Employees whose normal work day is seven (7) hours, all time worked in excess of thirty-five (35) hours per yearweek (to be calculated on a Sunday to Saturday week) shall be considered as overtime provided the overtime work is authorized by the Employee’s Supervisor or designate. Premium For Employees whose normal work day is ten (10) hours, all time worked in excess of seventy (70) hours in a bi-weekly pay period shall be considered as overtime provided the overtime worked is authorized by the Employee’s Supervisor or designate. Employees who work overtime shall receive payment at the rate of time and one-half (1½) or, if the Employee’s Supervisor and the Employee agree, time off in the form of cash or compensatory time off, lieu at one and one-half (1 1/2) times the base rate, shall be paid for hours worked or taken as paid leave in excess of the normal schedule cycle as a proportion of the normal work year. Premium pay shall be earned for hours worked in excess of the normal schedule day unless such hours are necessary to develop the required hours in the normal schedule cycle, again, based on a normal work year of 2,080 hours. Employees shall receive the two (2) hour minimum at the overtime rate to attend mandatory meetings on a regularly scheduled day off or on an approved time off. Employees shall be entitled to bank up to one hundred twenty (120) hours of compensatory time for later usetime. Section 2 Court time or call back time which does not directly follow a normal work shift shall be paid at a minimum of two (2) hours. Premium pay shall apply if the time worked or the minimum, when added to hours worked in the regular work cycle in which the call back or court time is earned, exceeds normal cycle hours. If an employee is told to report to work and that report to work is cancelled with less Section 3 The normal work schedule for full-time employees shall equal a forty hour work week when averaged over a six week cycle. The normal shift shall include two fifteen (15) minute breaks and one-half (1/2) hour lunch period available but subject to call. Public Safety Telecommunicators scheduled to work alone shall be paid an additional thirty (30) minutes at straight time rates for each four (4) hours worked in lieu of a break. Section 4 The employees will maintain a record keeping system to be used when offering overtime assignments. Overtime will be offered to available employees based on seniority. Overtime refused by an employee will, for record purposes, be considered as unpaid overtime worked. For the purpose of computing premium pay, hours worked shall not be pyramided, compounded or paid twice for the same hours. Overtime shall be calculated to the nearest fifteen (15) minutes. Section 5 The Employer may honor voluntary requests and acceptance of shift exchanges between bargaining unit employees, but only in the event that there is no adverse effect upon the Department program and functions. Refusal to grant shift exchanges shall not be grievable. Section 6 $1. 50 per hour will be added to the Deputies rate of pay as a shift differential for all hours worked between 6:00 p.m. (1800) and 6:00 a.m. (0600). $.75 per hour will be added to the Public Safety Telecommunicators rate of pay as an afternoon shift differential, and $1.50 per hour as a night shift differential. If employees are held over at work on a night shift that extends into a day shift for reasons beyond their control, the night shift differential shall remain in effect. $1.50 per hour will be added to the rate of pay as sift differential for all hours worked on shifts that start on Saturdays or Sundays. (Ex: 0:00pm-6:00am on Friday night to Saturday morning would not receive premium pay. 6:00pm-6:00am on Sunday night to Monday morning would receive premium pay)

These employees shall not receive other benefits provided for in this contract applicable to full-time employees except as specifically provided in this Article. F. The number of part-time and temporary employees in an individual store basis to be limited to one (1) part-time employee for each full-time employee, except as provided below. Public Safety Telecommunicators Regular full-time employees will receive eight (8) hours of overtime work opportunity in addition to normal forty (40) hour work week in any week having an emergency work load that required employment of part-time help in excess of the above provision of one (1) part-time employee for each full-time employee. Double time will be paid for work performed on the second non-scheduled to day of the work alone week when an employee works each of the five (5) regularly scheduled days and the first non- scheduled day of the work week. SECTION 8. Employees injured while working or who suffer from occupational illness during their work shift and are sent home, shall be paid an additional thirty their current rate for the shift when such injury or illness is covered by insurance compensation. SECTION 9. The following absence codes will be paid two (302) minutes at straight time rates for each four percent of the previous year’s total earnings which includes regular earnings, and overtime compensation, if applicable.
