  • Overtime and Compensatory Time Because of the unique nature of the duties and emergency response obligations of the Division, management reserves the right to assign employees to work overtime as needed.

  • Overtime/Compensatory Time Overtime shall be paid for all hours worked in excess of the regularly scheduled workday. Compensatory time may be earned, in lieu of overtime, for overtime hours or hours earned under 18.7 or 18.8 of this article. In no case will compensatory time be allowed, in lieu of overtime, once the employee has reached the compensatory time limit in 18.11.

  • Use of Compensatory Time An employee must have the appropriate supervisor's prior approval to use accumulated compensatory time.

Executive, administrative and professional employees designated in the Annual Salary Ordinance with the "Z" symbol shall not receive extra compensation for holiday work but may be granted time off equivalent to the time worked at the rate of one-and-one-half times for work on the holiday.

  • No Layoff to Compensate for Overtime Employees shall not be required to layoff during regular hours to equalize any overtime worked.

  • Compensation for Holidays Worked Employees who are required to work on a holiday, shall be compensated at time- and-one-half times the employee's base hourly rate for each hour worked on the holiday up to a maximum of eight and one-half (8½) hours or one-tenth (1/10th) the number of regularly scheduled hours in the employee's standard work period, whichever is less. Time worked in excess of eight and one-half (8½) hours on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with Article 5, Section 2, Overtime.
