Common use of Illness or Injury – Member of Immediate Family Clause in Contracts

Illness or Injury – Member of Immediate Family. An eligible Bargaining Unit employee who is absent because of a serious health condition affecting a person in the employee’s immediate family may use his/her sick leave time to cover the hours missed from his/her work assignment. In order to qualify for use of accrued sick leave, the circumstances necessitating the use must meet the requirements set forth in the FMLA.
