Incentive Program - Purposes. In accordance with the policies expressed in Penal Code Sections 13500 and following and Chapter 2 of Title 11 of the California Administrative Code (Sections 1000 and following); and to attract law enforcement officers with high education standards, to broaden the professional experience of present officers and to maintain a high quality police service to cope with increased demands placed upon this function, there is established the following career incentive program, which provides a career incentive allowance based on two and one-half percent (2.5%) of base pay for possessing the first P.O.S.T. certificate (intermediate) not required by the minimal qualifications of the class and an additional allowance based on two and one-half percent (2.5%) of base pay per month for possessing a second P.O.S.T. certificate (advanced) not required by the minimal qualifications of the class.
