Interim Assignment. An Interim Assignment is a temporary assignment to perform all of the duties of another position or classification in order to fulfill a short-term need (e.g. for the purpose of temporarily replacing a member on leave of absence, or filling a vacant position for the duration of a special project, or filling a vacant position until completion of a competitive search to fill the position, etc.). An Interim Assignment is for a minimum of two full, consecutive payroll periods and will normally not exceed 12 months, but may be extended by agreement of the College, the Association and the member.
