Tests, Labs, and Imaging and X rays (diagnostic) This plan covers diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging and x-rays to diagnose or treat a condition when ordered by a physician. Major Diagnostic Imaging and Tests Major diagnostic imaging and tests include but are not limited to: • magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), • magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), • computerized axial tomography (CAT or CT scans), • nuclear scans, • positron emission tomography (PET scan), and • cardiac imaging. Preauthorization may be required for major diagnostic imaging and tests. This plan covers MRI examinations when the quality assurance standards of R.I. General Law §27-20-41 are met. MRI examinations conducted outside of the State of Rhode Island must be performed in accordance with the applicable laws of the state in which the examination has been conducted. Training and Education SECTION 1 – Law Enforcement Supervisors’ Training The state and the PBA recognize the importance of supervisor training programs to develop management skills in our law enforcement supervisors. The state will make a reasonable effort to continue existing training programs in law enforcement techniques and to develop new programs in performance review techniques, supervisory skills, and managerial techniques.

STUDENTS AND BUSINESS APPRENTICES A student or business apprentice who is present in a Contracting State solely for the purpose of his education or training and who is, or immediately before being so present was, a resident of the other Contracting State, shall be exempt from tax in the first-mentioned State on payments received from outside that first-mentioned State for the purposes of his maintenance, education or training.
