Common use of Jury Duty and Court Subpoena Clause in Contracts

Jury Duty and Court Subpoena. Any employee summoned to jury duty or issued a court subpoena shall be paid full salary for each working day of absence, provided that the employee pays the District, within forty (40) days, the jury fee or witness fee. If payment is not received within forty (40) days, it will be withheld from subsequent pay. This provision is not applicable if the employee is a witness against the District, the Board or its representatives as the result of any legal actions commenced by or on behalf of the National Education Association, the Illinois Education Association, its agents or members, or as the result of any legal actions arising from collective negotiations between the Association and the Board.
