Common use of Jury Duty and Witness Clause in Contracts

Jury Duty and Witness. Any employee called for Jury Duty, or as a witness, will be allowed time off during the period of such duty and the employee's regular pay will be continued. Any remuneration received for such duty will be remitted to the City Treasurer, with the appropriate Department Head being responsible to ensure such payment is made. PROVIDED HOWEVER that the City will not make any allowance for payment of additional transportation costs, parking fees, lunches, etc., incurred while on such duty, nor shall these costs be deducted from the fees received.
