Common use of Jury or Crown Witness Duty Clause in Contracts

Jury or Crown Witness Duty. (a) The Employer will pay an Employee their normal hourly earnings for the day(s) spent serving Jury Duty, provided proof of a subpoena for Jury Duty or proof of Jury service has been given to the Employer, and the Employee remits to the Employer the cheque they received from the Court for participating in Jury Duty or Jury Service. (b) An Employee subpoenaed by the Crown as a Witness will be paid their normal hourly earnings for time spent in Court, provided the Employee provides a copy of the Crown Subpoena to the Employer, and the Employee remits to the Employer the cheque they received from the Court for serving as a Crown Witness.
