Payment While on Jury Duty. For each working day on which an employee serves as a Juror or Crown Witness, the Company will pay their normal wages they would normally be paid for that day. Their next pay will be reduced by the amount of Juror or Witness fees the employee receives. The employee will be required to inform their Immediate Supervisor of the days on which the employee serves, and to provide evidence of the fees received, to ensure the employee is paid in accordance with this Article. In cases where the employee is required to serve on a Jury or as a Crown Witness for a period greater than fourteen (14) calendar days, and the Jury Duty/Crown Witness responsibilities fall on their scheduled days off, the employee’s work schedule will be reduced by the number of days served in each subsequent week and the Company will top up the wages of the employee for the days missed at regular rates minus any fees received.

  • ARTICLE JURY DUTY (a) Where an employee is required by subpoena to attend a court of law or coroner's inquest in connection with a case arising from the employee's duties on the premises of the Employer on his regularly scheduled day off, the Employer will attempt to reschedule the employee's regular day off, it being understood that any rescheduling shall not result in the payment of any premium pay. Where the Employer is unable to reschedule the employee and, as a result, he is required to attend on a regular day off he shall be paid for all hours actually spent at such hearing at his regular straight time hourly rate. It is agreed if this occurs on the employee's scheduled working day the employee will be paid as above. An employee required to serve jury duty shall be paid the difference between what he would have earned for his scheduled hours, (without taking into account any shift premium or the like) and the fees received pursuant to the performance of jury duty. This will be affected by the employee signing over his jury fees less expense money received from the authorities for meals and lodging and the Employer will continue the regular salary payments. The employee is to notify his supervisor as soon as possible after receipt of notice of selection for jury duty. The employee will come to work during those regularly scheduled hours that he is not required to attend at court.

  • Jury Duty 31.1 An employee who is summoned for jury duty and is required to lose time from his assignment as a result thereof, shall be paid for actual time lost with a maximum of one basic day's pay at the straight time rate of his position for each day lost, less the amount allowed him for jury duty for each such day excluding allowances paid by the court for meals, lodging or transportation, subject to the following requirements and limitations:

  • Jury Duty/Subpoena A. An employee shall be allowed such time off without loss of compensation as is required in connection with mandatory jury duty. If payment is made for such time off, the employee is required to remit to the State jury fees received.   • Extra Duty A. All extra duty vacancies listed in Article 29 (except as provided in 7-8-C) shall be filled by MBUs, providing they meet the following criteria.

  • Civic Duty Whenever an employee is served with a subpoena by a court of competent jurisdiction which compels his/her presence as a witness during his/her normal working period, unless he/she is a party to the litigation or an expert witness, such employee shall be granted time off with pay in the amount of the difference between the employee's regular earnings and any amount he/she receives for such appearance. This Article is not applicable to appearances for which the employee receives compensation in excess of his/her regular earnings. A court of competent jurisdiction is defined as a court within the County in which the employee resides or if outside the county of residence, the place of appearance must be within 150 miles of the employee's residence.
