Common use of Jury or Witness Duty Clause in Contracts

Jury or Witness Duty. Upon written request, the Employer shall grant a leave of absence without loss of seniority to an employee who serves as a juror or is subpoenaed as a witness. The Employer shall pay such an employee the difference between their normal earnings and the payment they receive for jury service or witness duty, excluding payment for travelling, meals, or other expenses provided that such appearance and/or service actually conflicts with the employee’s scheduled hours. The employee will present proof of service and the amount of pay received.
