Common use of JURY PAY Clause in Contracts

JURY PAY. Section 17.1 Any regular employee who is called for service as a juror shall be excused from work for those hours necessary in order to serve, and shall be reimbursed for scheduled working time lost up to a maximum of eight (8) hours per day and a maximum of eighty (80) hours per calendar year. Jury pay shall be computed at the number of hours per week in the employee's regular schedule and at the employee's regular straight-time hourly rate. The employer may request documentation of any monies the employee received from the court to offset lost wages while serving as a juror. The employer may than deduct this amount from the employee’s jury pay.
