Leave for Union Office. Any employee elected or appointed to Union office may be permitted to take an unpaid leave of absence for one year which may be renewed for one year periods and which shall not be unreasonably denied.

Any employee elected or appointed to Union office may be permitted to take an unpaid leave of absence for one year which may all or part of the duration of his or her tenure in office in accordance with Civil Service Commission regulations. Such leave shall be renewed for one year periods subject to the approval of the Judiciary and which shall not be unreasonably denied. The leave shall be for one (1) year increments and may be renewed annually.
