Common use of LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD Clause in Contracts

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD. A Member who has completed their probationary period may be granted a leave of absence, with or without pay, and without loss of seniority on the following basis: Written application for such leave showing good and sufficient reason for a leave must be submitted to the Superintendent of Human Resources or designate, for approval, two (2) months prior to the date on which the leave is to commence. A shorter notice period will be acceptable under extenuating circumstances.

Notice shall be a minimum of two (2) months prior to the date on which the leave is to commence. Such leave may be approved at the sole discretion of the Board. A shorter notice period will may be acceptable approved under extenuating circumstances.
