Leave Rights. A Bargaining Unit Member who is pregnant shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for maternity reasons to begin at any time between (1) the commencement of pregnancy, and (2) one (1) school year after the child is born. Such leave shall not be for more than a one (1) year period. A Bargaining Unit Member whose spouse gives birth to a child shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence to begin after the child is born.
