Leaving School Grounds. A teacher may leave the school grounds during unassigned time or after his/her last assigned duties of the day by requesting permission of his/her building principal, which permission shall not be unreasonably withheld.

Leaving School Grounds. Effective January 1, 2012, nurses will be permitted to leave school grounds during their lunch one (1) day per week in those weeks that consist of five (5) school days if their building can be covered by either a float nurse or another nurse in their building. This provision shall not apply to any school week during which no students were present for one (1) of the school days. This provision shall not apply to nurses assigned to school buildings outside of the District or to a nurse assigned as a float nurse.
Leaving School Grounds non-sponsored events From time to time, a student currently enrolled in St. Xxxxxxx School may desire to participate in an extracurricular activity that is neither sponsored nor coordinated by the school and that requires the student to leave school grounds after the morning late bell has rung but before dismissal at the end of the school day. This policy is intended to reflect and advance St. Xxxxxxx School’s paramount concerns for the physical safety and academic welfare of its students during the course of each school day. Examples of activities covered by this policy include, but are not limited to, participation in a public school district’s gifted student program, a sports team or activity offered by a public school, private school, or parochial school other than St. Xxxxxxx School or Parish, and out-of-school music lessons. Examples of activities not covered by this policy include, but are not limited to, class field trips, school- sponsored swimming lessons, in-school music lessons, Quiz Bowl matches, the Capital Area Science Fair, spelling/geography bees, and sporting activities offered by the St. Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx Athletic Association, as these activities are “sponsored or coordinated” by St. Xxxxxxx School and/or St. Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx. Participation and eligibility requirements for attendance at off-site activities covered by this policy shall be as follows:
Leaving School Grounds. Should an emergency arise necessitating that a teacher leave the school grounds temporarily or for the balance of the day, such teacher will request permission to do so from the Building Principal or the administrator on duty. If a teacher wishes to leave the school grounds during lunch he/she will notify the Building Principal’s secretary prior to leaving. Administrative approval must be received before any teacher leaves the building during an assigned period.
