Trial Service Period definition

Trial Service Period means the six (6) month, or twelve (12) month, Probationary Period served by a permanent employee who has been promoted to or who has voluntarily transferred to a vacant position.
Trial Service Period. A twelve (12)-month trial period of employment of a regular employee, beginning with the effective date of a subsequent regular appointment from one classification to a different classification through promotion or transfer to a classification in which the employee has not successfully completed a probationary or trial service period, or rehire from a Reversion/Recall List to a department other than that from which the employee was laid off.

More Definitions of Trial Service Period

Trial Service Period. Employees granted promotion or transfer to a new classification shall be subject to a trial service period of thirty (30) working days, during which the employee may be returned to the same or similar position in the prior classification, if deemed unsuccessful by the Employer or the employee.

Trial Service Period means a working evaluation period of twelve months during which an employee is required to demonstrate fitness for the position by actual performance of the duties.
Trial Service Period is referenced in Section 5.4(f), “Position Vacancies”, and in Article 17, “Reduction in Force/Layoff/Rehires”, of the Contract. Trial Service Period is a defined period of time up to three (3) months to six (6) months in duration. The purpose of a Trial Service Period is to provide the nurse with the opportunity to acquire knowledge, training and skills necessary to competently perform in a new position. The Trial Service Period may be shortened if management and the nurse determine the nurse demonstrates sufficient competency. Management may end the Trial Service Period if management objectively assesses that the nurse is not demonstrating sufficient progress to be able to competently perform the duties of the new position within a reasonable time period. Likewise, the nurse may end the Trial Service Period if he or she concludes the new position is not an appropriate match.
